<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feeder effectively preventing loading turbulence of paper sheets stored on a pushing-up plate. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The paper feeder supplies a plurality of paper sheets P loaded/stored on the pushing-up plate one by one, based on rotation of a paper feeding roller. Side part regulating plates 16a, 16b for regulating both the side parts of the paper sheets P loaded on the pushing-up plate orthogonal to the paper feeding direction F are mounted with energization members 17a, 17b projecting slightly inward from the inner surface for elastically energizing both the side parts of the paper sheets P. The paper feeder is mounted to an image forming device body in the direction of the arrow mark B. When it is mounted, the energization member 17a which inertia of the paper sheet P acts on is composed of high-density material, and the energization member 17b which the inertia of the paper sheet P does not act on is composed of a low-density material.
