<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To output an image allowing a color-blind person to easily identify hue, and to obtain hue information only by simply discriminating the direction of a pattern provided to an image. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Input image data are stored in a storage part 203, and a hue information extraction part 204 extracts hue information from the stored image data. A direction determination processing part 205 determines the direction of a pattern superposed on the image data according to the hue information.
