PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distribution method or the like that reduces a management cost of a map server by using an unequal division map image, and also specifies the correspondence between a browsing range and a file identifier by a terminal itself. SOLUTION: In one map image, a regular range identifier based on arrangement is assigned for every equal division range divided into an equal vertical width and equal width. The map server stores a plurality of rectangular division map image that is divided by the unit of one or more equal division range and arrayed in the shape of tiles, and the range identifier in a predetermined origin position of the division map image is assigned as the file identifier of the division map image. A terminal transmits the range identifier of the equal division range to be displayed to the map server, and receives the division map image including the equal division range of the range identifier from the map server. The terminal specifies the image position of the equal division range required by using the file identifier of the division map image as the predetermined origin position, and displays the equal division range in the division map image.
