PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyol composition which contains a relatively small amount of aldehyde compounds as impurities and in which the conditions of hydroxy groups are adequately adjusted, to provide a method for producing the same and to provide a method for producing a polyurethane resin using the polyol composition. SOLUTION: The polyol composition is obtained by addition-polymerizing a 2-4C alkylene oxide to the product of esterification reaction of a polycarboxylic acid having three or more carboxy groups within a molecule with a hydroxycarboxylic acid having one or two carboxy groups within a molecule.
