PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably line up roads to be matched upon the passage through intersections at appropriate positions as candidates. SOLUTION: A route search guidance apparatus 10 generates matching candidate location information having the prescribed positions of all branching road links as matching candidate positions when a moving object has passed an intersection (steps S106, S107); removes matching candidate positions which the moving object can not reach on the basis of the moving mode of the moving object after having passed the intersection (steps S108, S109); selects, as candidate positions, positions of which the distances from a matching candidate position of the last time are the same as a navigation distance determined on the basis of the amount of displacement in a GPS position; and performs such control as to display a position on a road link of a position closest from a positioning position among the matching candidate positions set as matching candidate location information as a current location of the moving object.
