PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To equalize collision detection accuracy in a great number of mass-produced collision detection sensors. SOLUTION: In the collision detection system and method, a controller (ECU) detects collision of cars from revolution detected value of a motor revolution sensor (S201, S202). Also collision of cars is detected on the basis of revolution detected value of an ABS wheel revolution sensor (S203, S204).
