摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve ranging accuracy, in a pulse radar apparatus which measures the distance to the surface of the ground, by switching the direction of an antenna beam. SOLUTION: Transmission pulses are outputted, by a first step for outputting the first transmission pulse with a predefined pulse width, while directing the antenna beam at a prescribed angle below a prescribed angle of depression, a second step for outputting the second transmission pulse with the prescribed pulse width, while directing the antenna beam at a predefined angle above the prescribed angle of depression, and a third step for outputting the third transmission pulse with the prescribed pulse width, while directing the antenna beam at the prescribed angle of depression. On the basis of the receiving signal obtained by the reflection of the third transmission pulse on the surface of the ground, the angles of depression of the surface of the ground corresponding to the distances of respective receiving signals exhibiting the same distance by the first and the second transmission pulses are obtained, and the ranging is performed by limiting the receiving signals to be used in the ranging, from among the receiving signals respectively obtained by the first and the second transmission pulses, based on the angle of depressions of the surface of the ground of the obtained receiving signals.
