<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guiding catheter inserted from the artery of an arm not only to be used in the treatment of the ilium artery or peripheral artery under the ilium artery but also to be indwelled at a desired position in a blood vessel and capable of inserting a treatment device in a desired morbid region. <P>SOLUTION: The guiding catheter 1 is inserted from the artery of an arm and passed through the main artery to be used in the treatment of the peripheral artery under the ilium artery on the downstream side of the aorta abdominalis. The guiding catheter 1 is equipped with a flexible tube having a lumen continuing to its leading end part from its base end part and a position fixing balloon member BL is provided at the position corresponding to the peripheral artery region of the leading end part of the tube, so that a fluid supply port 3 for sending a fluid into the balloon member to expand the balloon member is provided to the base end part of the tube. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
