<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical coupling module for effectively removing clad mode light not coupling with the core of an optical fiber, among outgoing beams of light from a light emitting element, without adding an optical component, and to provide an optical transmitter device using the same. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the optical coupling module comprising a light emitting element 11 and an optical fiber 20 that optically couples with outgoing light 12 from the light emitting element 11 and transmits it, the optical fiber 20 is composed of a core 21 that transmits the outgoing light 12 from the light emitting element 11 and a cladding 22 that covers the circumference of the core 21 and further, near the core 21 and along the optical axis direction of the core 21, a material is arranged that is different from the cladding 22 and the core 21.
