<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an impeller having high strength by providing a continuous projection to surround the surrounding at a joining end part of a blade, welding the projection and brazing a recess surrounded by the projection, and to make fluid performance excellent by machining excess metal, in the impeller of a centrifugal compressor, etc. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The blade and a side plate can be joined without an unwelded part by providing the continuous projection to surround the surrounding at the joining end part of the blade, welding the projection and brazing the recess surrounded by the projection. Fatigue strength is enhanced and fluid performance is made excellent by making the surface of the excess metal after the welding into a surface having a recessed curvature or a plane. The joining end part of the blade with the side plate can be welded by providing the recess in a joining surface between the side plate and the blade and brazing the recess.
