PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle body side structure can sufficiently increase the buckling rigidity and the bending rigidity of a rocker disposed in a lower portion of a vehicle body. SOLUTION: Rib-like hollow swelling sections 1G, 1H are formed integrally with the upper wall and sidewalls of the rocker inner section 1A. Rib-like hollow swelling sections 1J, 1K are formed integrally with the sidewalls and the lower wall of the rocker outer section 1B. The hollow swelling sections 1G, 1J, 1K have closed cross sections, respectively. Therefore, the buckling rigidity of the rocker 1 in the axial direction is increased, and the bending rigidity of the rocker 1 in the vertical and lateral directions is sufficiently increased. As a result, a separate reinforcement does not need to be installed in the rocker 1, and the plate thickness of the rocker 1 can be reduced. Since the collapse of the cross section of the rocker 1 when a side collision load is input from the other vehicle to the vehicle body is suppressed, the bending of the rocker 1 is suppressed.
