PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate an installing operation for installing a slide door in an air conditioner case, in an air passage opening/closing device in which the slide door is driven by a rack-and-pinion. SOLUTION: A thick tooth 32b having a tooth thickness equal to the thickness of a plurality of rack teeth 32a joined to each other is formed at the end of a rack 32 on the opposite side of an insertion hole 38. A chipped tooth 33b formed by eliminating at least one or more pinion teeth 33a is so formed at a part of the pinion 33 as to correspond to the thick tooth 32b. Consequently, when the slide door 26 is inserted into a guide groove 37 through the insertion hole 38, the thick tooth 32b of the rack 32 is engaged with the chipped tooth 33b of the pinion 33, and the rack 32 is engaged with the pinion 33.
