<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color imaging device allowing the size in the optical axis direction to be made smaller than that of a single-plate type color imaging device while keeping the image quality equivalent to that of a multiple-plate type color imaging device without requiring a color decomposition prism, and capable of reducing cost. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This color imaging device is provided with a plurality of imaging optical systems 110R, 110G and 110B and a plurality of light reception parts 5R, 5G and 5B to be respectively paired with a plurality of colored rays different from one another, and provided, on the optical paths thereof, with color filters 6R, 6G and 6B each transmitting any of the plurality of colored rays R, G and B; and is structured such that the plurality of imaging optical systems and the plurality of light reception parts 5R, 5G and 5B are arranged in parallel to each other, respectively, and arranged to focus nearly the same range of an object on the respective light reception parts 5R, 5G and 5B.
