PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner for a vehicle, capable of reducing a loss in inflow of air for an evaporator and loss in pressure in an air flow passage, and reducing a blowing noise or the input of a fan. SOLUTION: The air conditioner 1 for a vehicle has a structure in which an evaporator 8, an air mix damper 11 and a heater 10 are sequentially arranged along an air flow passage 3 in a casing 2, and a blowing fan 20 is connected so as to substantially orthogonal to the air flow passage 3, wherein an air flow blown from the blowing fan 20 circulates through the evaporator 8 and the heater 10 and then blown into a cabin from at least any of the defroster blowing passage 5, a face blowing passage 6 and a foot blowing passage 7 which are provided on the downstream side. The evaporator 8 is obliquely arranged so that its upstream side core surface 8A may oppose the air flow from the blowing fan 20 connected substantially orthogonally to the air flow passage 3.
