<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plate catalyst which can inhibit the blow-through of a gas in a projecting line part or a recessed line part of the plate catalyst and the deposition of ash, as well as a structure of the plate catalyst. <P>SOLUTION: The plate catalyst for treating an exhaust gas is structured of a plate form with a plurality of rows of the projecting line and the recessed line parts, both of a specified height, which are alternately aligned, in a flat plate part, and a catalytic component supported by the plate form. Further, the projecting line and the recessed line parts have each an elliptical or a trapezoidal recessed part at their ridges at not less than one spot.
