<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pancreatic lipase inhibitor which is active owing to a pancreatic lipase activity-inhibitory effect of the extract of Xiangru as a crude drug, particularly that of Mosla chinensis Maxim. or Elsholtzia ciliata Hylander, Elsholtzia splendens Nakai ex F. Maekawa, based on the study of their pharmacological activity, and to provide a composition preventing lipid accumulation, such as having anti-obese, lipid absorption-inhibitory and blood neutral lipid level-inhibitory effects, owing to the above inhibitor. <P>SOLUTION: The pancreatic lipase inhibitor is characterized by comprising the solvent extract of Xiangru as the active ingredient. The composition containing the inhibitor is also provided, preventing lipid accumulation, such as having anti-obese, lipid absorption-inhibitory and blood neutral lipid level-inhibitory effects, owing to the above inhibitor. In this composition, the Xiangru to undergo extraction is Mosla chinensis Maxim. or Elsholtzia ciliata Hylander, Elsholtzia splendens Nakai ex F. Maekawa, the extractive solvent is water.
