PURPOSE: A terminal and a method for providing a background screen of the terminal are provided to emotionally express various information displayed on the background screen of the terminal. CONSTITUTION: A touch screen displays an image showing a form in which objects move within a scene with a specific theme on a background screen. A wireless communication unit(110) receives a signal having one of current time information and weather information. A controller(180) reflects one between the received time information and weather information to the scene of the background screen in real time. The controller displays detailed contents information about one between the current time information and weather information if the scene of the background is touched.
