PURPOSE: A steam iron is provided to make the configuration simple by removing the need of a separate steam generating boiler and to enable long-time use in a business site or home. CONSTITUTION: A steam iron comprises a board(10) with a steam discharge hole(12), a heater(20) which is installed above the board and powered by external power supply, a steam generation block(40) which is installed above the heater, including a vaporization chamber(42) into which water from an external water source(30) is supplied, a feed pump(50) which is installed between the water source and the steam generation block and forcibly feeds the water to the steam generation block, a check valve(60) which is positioned between the feed pump and the vaporization chamber to prevent reverse current of steam or water, and a steam discharge pipe(70) for discharging steam generated in the vaporization chamber to the steam discharge hole.
