PURPOSE: A memory device and a method of storing data bit are provided to efficiently decrease data errors that may happen while maintaining data for a long time so that the reliability of a memory device may be increased. CONSTITUTION: A memory device(100) includes a multi-level cell array(110), an error correction unit(120), an error pattern analysis unit(130) and a data converter(140). The multi-level cell array includes plural multi-level cells, and the error collection unit encodes the data for the recording on a multi-level cell to convert a code word. The error pattern analysis unit analyzes the first data pattern corresponding to an error pattern included in the cord word. The data converter converts the first data pattern into the second data pattern.
