<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydraulic shock absorber capable of securing damping force responsiveness without being influenced by a piston speed. <P>SOLUTION: During a shrinkage stroke, working fluid flows to a cylinder upper chamber 6 from a cylinder lower chamber 7 through a shrinkage side damping force generating mechanism 20, and simultaneously, the cylinder upper chamber 6 and a reservoir chamber 5 are communicated by a valve mechanism 23 opened accompanied by movement of a piston rod 9 in the shrinkage stroke, and the working fluid in an amount corresponding to a volume of the piston rod 9 being inserted flows from the cylinder upper chamber 6 to the reservoir chamber 5. Thus, an internal pressure of the cylinder lower chamber 7 can be set in the minimum, and responsiveness of damping force in the shrinkage stroke can be improved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
