PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chair wherein it is possible to adjust the practical depth width of a seat part by moving a backrest part back and forth corresponding to the physique of a seated person, support the optimum height position of the back for the seated person of any physique, and stably hold the lower back part. SOLUTION: The chair includes the seat part 2 supported by a leg part 1 and the backrest part 3 provided behind the seat part, and the practical depth width of the seat part is adjustable by moving the seat part or the backrest part in the back and forth direction. For the backrest part, a back support member 7 is fixed to the upper ends of both backrest rods 6 and 6 raised from both sides of the seat part, a lower back support member 8 is disposed below the back support member at an interval, both sides of the lower back support member are vertically movably supported and provided at an intermediate part of both the backrest rods, and it is urged so that the lower end of the lower back support member is brought into contact with the upper surface of the seat part at all times.
