PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal decorative electronic key which can stabilize its radio wave performance. SOLUTION: A portable machine 2 of the electronic key is formed of: a case 4 which is made of a non-conductive material and has a decorative metal 8 arranged on part of a decorative surface in order to satisfy its external design quality; and a transmission antenna 11 which is arranged inside the case 4, for transmitting an identification code peculiar to itself to a transmission object by radio. The transmission antenna 11 is arranged in the vicinity of a slit 9a that is formed in the center of first short sides 8a, 10a of the respective decorative metals 8, 10 as viewed from a design surface side, i.e. at a location close to longitudinal ends of the respective decorative metals 8, 10.
