PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a video/audio recording and reproducing method, with which video/audio is automatically evaluated by automatically reproducing, at recording, the video/audio recorded in a redundant video/audio sending apparatus. SOLUTION: In a system for reproducing and sending video/audio materials recorded in the video/audio sending apparatus, the same video/audio materials are made to be synchronously stored and recorded, in duplexed video/audio sending apparatuses by a recording control apparatus; and when video/audio data are stored for a predetermined amount, information, such as material code and reproduction length of video/audio to be reproduced is notified to a video/audio difference detector. At the same time, each of the video/audio sending apparatuses is controlled for reproduction, and the digital data of the reproduced video/audio are outputted to the video/audio difference detector. Here, the digital data of video/audio outputted from the video/audio sending apparatuses are compared, and if a difference is detected in the compared video/audio outputs, in this video/audio recording and reproducing method, it is determined that there is abnormality in the recorded video/audio materials.
