PURPOSE: A gate type metal detector capable of preventing malfunction is provided to prevent malfunction due to the surrounding environment although peoples coming in and out don't pass the metal detector. CONSTITUTION: A gate type metal detector capable of preventing malfunction is composed of transmitting and receiving protection cases(4), a horizontal panel, and a sensor. The transmitting protection case surrounds the side of a transmitting vertical panel(1) in which a transmitting coil is installed. A buffer(5) is installed between thee transmitting protection case and the transmitting vertical panel. The receiving protection case surrounds the side of a receiving vertical panel(2) in which a receiving coil is installed. A buffer is installed between thee receiving protection case and the receiving vertical panel. The horizontal panel is combined with the upper part of the transmitting and receiving protection cases. The sensor is installed in the transmitting and receiving protection cases or the horizontal panel. The sensor senses the passing of peoples coming in and out.
