PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool for holding disks capable of stably holding the disks such as glass substrates for magnetic recording mediums or magnetic disks with only their lower ends and hardly generating a chip. SOLUTION: The tool for holding disks holds the disks by inserting the end parts of the disks into notches 30 provided in the surface of a base body 20, wherein the widths of the aperture parts 31 of the notches 30 are made gradually narrow toward both ends, the widths of sectional shapes in the width direction of the notches 30 are made gradually narrow toward a deeper part and the depths of sectional shapes in the length direction of the notches 30 are made gradually shallow toward both ends.
