PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent tapping and tampering by setting encrypted communication between a host computer and a storage device which provides a virtual volume and between the storage device which provides the virtual volume and a storage device which provides actual volume corresponding to the virtual volume. SOLUTION: The storage devices 3b, 3c which provide volume corresponding to the virtual volume used by the management computer 1, and the host computer 2 requiring the encrypted communication and provides the actual volume corresponding to the virtual volume are specified, communication between the storage device 3a which provides the virtual volume and the specified storage devices 3b, 3c which provide the actual volume corresponding to the virtual volume is set to the encrypted communication, the storage devices are re-connected and the encrypted communication is set to an I/O port of the storage device 3a which provides the virtual volume, which is used for communication with the host computer 2.
