FIELD: mechanical engineering. ^ SUBSTANCE: method comprises setting the blank in rotation and setting the tool with the disk in reciprocation along the blank. The disk is provided with deforming members. The deforming members are made of turns of steel screw cylindrical spring made of wire of round cross-section. The ring is fit on the peripheral surface of the disk with interference. The turns of the spring are distributes and secured in the grooves. The shape and sizes of the grooves correspond to these of the spring, and the depth of the grooves is at lest no less than the diameter of the spring wire. The grooves are made on the peripheral surface of the disk at an acute angle to the longitudinal axis of the tool equal to the angle of inclination of the spring turns.
