PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further improve image quality while reducing the unevenness of density in multipass printing. SOLUTION: An image formation device for performing the multipass printing is equipped with a means (983_1 to 983_3) for computing the density of the domain printed by either of passes, a means which is arranged in the upstream of the main scan direction of the recording head and detects the density of the domain printed by the either of passes, and a means (960_2 to 960_4) which forms a printing picture printed by the next pass in the domain from the difference computed by the computed density and the detected density.
