<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a heat exchanger reducing ventilation resistance, improving temperature effectiveness, having excellent clogging durability accompanying frosting and suppressing pressure loss of a refrigerant even when an air course is narrow and long in the ventilation direction like a refrigerator. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The heat exchanger comprises eight flat heat-transfer pipes 21 arranged in parallel at predetermined intervals, bent spirally and having a refrigerant flowing inside, and hollow cylindrical refrigerant inlet side and outlet side headers 22, 23 with which both end parts of the flat heat-transfer pipes 21 are connected and communicated. The one refrigerant outlet side header 23 is arranged in a horizontal part 9b in the vicinity of a bent part 9c of an L-shaped cold air course 9, and the other refrigerant inlet side header 22 is arranged in a vertical part 9a of the cold air course 9. Clearances between the flat heat-transfer pipes 21 adjacent to each other within the vertical part 9a and spirally bent hollow central portions of the heat-transfer pipes 21 function as a main air course 24, and the ventilation direction of the cold air course 9 is set to be a direction leading from the horizontal part 9b to the vertical part 9a.
