<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact scroll type compressor for a CO2 refrigerant, for reducing generation of strain, even if the scroll type compressor is welded and fixed to a sealed vessel. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This scroll type compressor (11) is characterized in that a main housing (25) having a thrust bearing part (55) for receiving a thrust load of a movable scroll (31), has an extension part extending from a main housing end surface (25a) on the electric motor part (15) side, on the opposite side of the thrust bearing part (55), and the extension part is welded and fixed from the outside of the sealed vessel.
