MEDICAL FILE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a data retrieval efficiency and a diagnosis efficiency in a medical file management system.

SOLUTION: This medical file management system is provided with: a DICOM file server 12 that accumulates and provides medical files consisting of incidental information and image data stored in a header section conforming to a segment of communication protocol specifications between medical image apparatuses; a DICOM file request-display section 42; a feature image data setting section 43 that sets feature image data contained in a required DICOM file; a JPEG file generation means 45 that consists of image attribute information recorded in the header section conforming to the segment of JPEG form, and JPEG feature image data formed by compressing the feature image data set by the feature image data setting section 43; and a JPEG file transmission section 46 transmitting the JPEG file to a JPEG file DB server 15. The JPEG file DB server 15 accumulates and provides the JPEG files.
