PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blade drive device for a camera which comprises an output pin in parallel with the rotation axis of a rotor integrally with it and with which the projection quantity in the direction along the optical axis from a bottom board is small even when using an electromagnetic actuator with a wholly elongated stator frame. SOLUTION: The electromagnetic actuator is fixed to a main bottom board 1 with the rotation axis of the rotator 11 being in the attitude orthogonal to the optical axis. The rotor 11 has the output pin 11c in parallel with the rotation axis of the rotor 11 at the tip of an arm part 11b. A drive member 4 is rotatably fixed to the main bottom board 1 and engages a drive pin 4c to the long hole 3a of a barrier blade 3 in a blade room. The drive member 4 has two standingly mounted column parts 4a, 4b, and the output pin 11c is inserted therebetween. Therefore, when the output pin 11c rotates reciprocatingly within a predetermined angle range, the drive member 4 is rotated reciprocatingly to reciprocatingly rotate the barrier blade 3.
