<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid level detecting device for maintaining satisfactory precision in detection even in the environment generating electric charges. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This liquid level detecting device 100 for detecting level of a liquid surface 9a of a liquid 9 includes a rotary body 3, a float 6 floating on the liquid surface 9a, a float arm 7 holding the float 6 on one end part side 70a, supporting the other end part side 70b on the rotary body 3, converting the vertical travel of the float 6 into rotary movement, and transmitting it to the rotary body 3, a body part 2 supporting the rotary body 3 rotatably, and a detection circuit part 4 arranged in the body part 2 while being apart from the rotary body 3, detecting an angle of rotation of the rotary body 3 corresponding to the level of the liquid surface 9a, and outputting a detection signal. The float arm 7 is made of a current carrying material, and a covered part 8 made of an insulation material is formed on an external surface of at least a part of a zone from a part holding the float 6 to a part held in the rotary body 3 of the float arm 7.
