PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device for endoscopes changing a rotation frequency of a chopper in a state where a blinking light enters the eyes of a person. SOLUTION: This light source device for endoscopes is provided with an illumination light blinking means disposed between a light source and a light guide of an endoscope and periodically blinking the passing illumination light, and a control means for controlling the illumination light blinking means to blink the illumination light at a first frequency based on a signal from the endoscope, wherein, when a predetermined condition is satisfied, the control means controls the illumination light blinking means to blink the illumination light at a second frequency different from the first frequency.
