摘要 PURPOSE: A robot cleaner and a method of controlling the same are provided to measure the moving displacement of the robot cleaner by controlling the brightness of an illumination and photographing a floor side. CONSTITUTION: A robot cleaner comprises a light receiving sensor(203), a lighting part(204), an image sensor module(205), a displacement measuring part(207), and a controller(209). The light receiving sensor measures the brightness of the floor side. The lighting part emits the light on the floor side. The image sensor module photographs the floor side. The displacement measuring part measures the displacement using the image variation. The controller controls the brightness of an illumination according to the brightness of the floor side.
