<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently perform spatial multiplex communication by investigating the effect on an installation environment based on a received signal strength and selecting an antenna in accordance with a method suitable for the installation environment. <P>SOLUTION: A communication apparatus performs communication by spatially multiplexing a plurality of streams while using a plurality of antennas. The apparatus includes: a measuring means for measuring a received signal strength at one antenna; a selection means for selecting a plurality of antennas to be used for the spatial multiplex communication on the basis of a result of receiving a signal when the spatial multiplex communication is performed with a communication partner; and a switching means for switching whether to perform the selection by the selection means, in accordance with a result of the measurement due to the measuring means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
