PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the resource consumption of an electronic device and to simplify its recording by recording peripheral image information of the device only at timing when unauthorized use needs to be determined. SOLUTION: The electronic device includes a first memory (14) which stores parameters showing conditions regarding the unauthorized use of at least the device and a control part which makes a second memory (15) store image information obtained by an imaging unit picking up an image of the user of the device when the conditions indicated by the parameters are met. The control part controls the output of the image information stored in the second memory according to an output indication and instructs a BIOS setup program to read the parameters out of the first memory and record the image information onto the second memory. Further, the operating system program of the device indicates the setting and alteration of the parameters in the first memory through an interface prepared for the BIOS program.
