<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a porous filler that has a low viscosity in a porous filler slurry, excellent handleability, high bulking effect and white paper opacity in addition to paper, a proper average particle diameter and a narrow particle size distribution and increases surface strength and internal bond strength of paper and paper having high bulkiness, opacity, surface hardness and internal bond strength. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The porous filler is a porous filler comprising core particles, a silicon oxide compound and aluminum attached to the circumferences of the core particles.
