The light vehicle has a fuel cell (10) for producing a voltage (U1). A transformer (12) includes a magnetizable core (11), a primary coil (Np) and two secondary coils (N1, N2), where the primary coil is connected to the voltage in a switchable manner. A secondary switch (S1) is provided for parallel switching of the secondary coil (N1) with an accumulator (C1) i.e. lithium ion accumulator, and another secondary switch (S2) is provided for parallel switching of the secondary coil (N2) with another accumulator (C2), where the secondary switches are switchable independent of each other. The secondary switches are designed as metal oxide semiconductor (MOS) transistors. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating an electrical light vehicle.
