The device has a standing device (3) and two guide rails (1,2), and a holding device (4) for holding and guiding tools or other objects. A horizontally directed guide rail is connected with the standing device. Another vertically directed guide rail is moved to and fro along the former guide rail horizontally from an end of the former guide rail to the other end. The holding device is in and out along the latter guide rail vertically and locked.
