The system has a weather resistant and water-proof wireless camera (2) fastened to a wire rope bracket of a crane. The camera includes infrared sensors for permitting operation of the system in dark. A communication link includes a video transmission for monitoring a cabin of a crane operator (1) and a cabinet of a site manager (4). A monitor is attached to the cabin of the crane operator, receives a video signal from the camera and represents the video signal in the form of an image, which represents a position of a crane hook.
