摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a collision energy absorbing structure of a vehicle body whereby the load acting on each ridge of a skeleton member to support a bumper in the event of vehicle collision is adjustable for each ridge. Ž<P>SOLUTION: When a collision load is applied to a bumper reinforcement 86 in the direction from ahead of the vehicle body to behind, the collision load shall be transmitted to a front side member 12 through crush boxes 58, 60, 62, 64 and a mount 32. Each crush box 58, 60, 62, 64 is designed so that the collision absorbing performance is adjustable depending upon existence or none of beads 96, and the collision load acting on the ridges 18, 20, 22, 24 of the front side member 12 can be adjusted through compressive deformation of the crush boxes 58, 60, 62, 64.
