<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dredger which can minimize the time and costs necessary for dredging, and to provide a dredging method. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The dredger 1 is formed of: a grab bucket 3b for excavating a dredging zone; and an H-shape steel 5 located on the rear of the grab bucket 3b in a hull 2 direction, for leveling an excavated portion excavated by the grab bucket 3b. The H-shape steel 5 is hung from a lifting machine 4. While moving from the excavated portion excavated by the grab bucket 3b to an excavation scheduled portion to be excavated in the following step, the dredger 1 levels the excavated portion excavated by the H-shape steel 5.
