<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide coated paper that has a coating layer with high transparency in absorbing a liquid such as a chemical fluid and high hiding properties after releasing a liquid such as a chemical fluid, which has a coating layer with high transparency and high hiding properties, sufficient surface strength even when a substrate is not equipped with a nonwoven fabric and paper is directly provided with a coating layer. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The coated paper is obtained by providing one or both surfaces of a substrate with a coating layer which contains a pigment and an adhesive and improves transparency by liquid absorption.
