Disclosed is a novel method for producing β-ketocarbonyl-functional organosilicon compounds, in which compounds (1) are used that separate diketenes of general formula (I), wherein R3 represents a hydrogen atom or a hydrocarbon radical comprising 1 to 18 carbon atoms. In said method, the diketenes of general formula (I) are reacted with organosilicon compounds (2) containing at least one Si-bonded radical A of general formula-R1-NR22 (II) per molecule, wherein R1 represents a divalent organic radical which comprises 2 to 10 carbon atoms and can contain heteroatoms selected from among the group encompassing oxygen, sulfur, and nitrogen, R2 represents a hydrogen atom or an organic radical that comprises 1 to 100 carbon atoms and can contain nitrogen atoms, provided that the radical A of formula (II) comprises at least one primary or secondary amino group, preferably at least one primary amino group, in the presence of organic compounds (3) that delay or prevent the reaction of primary or secondary amino groups with β-ketocarbonyl compounds.
