PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for extracting and detecting Bursaphelenchus xylophilus DNA from a wood chip originated from a tree belonging to genus Pinus or the like without separating the Bursaphelenchus xylophilus.

SOLUTION: Provided are a method for extracting the DNA of the Bursaphelenchus xylophilus from a picked Bursaphelenchus xylophilus-containing wood chip; a LAMP primer set comprising a primer annealing the specific region of the DNA of the Bursaphelenchus xylophilus; and a method for detecting the Bursaphelenchus xylophilus from a wood chip, by amplifying the DNA by a LAMP method using the primer set.
