<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve utilization efficiency of frequencies while securing coverage of cells in a new system in a region where an old system utilizing a system band of a basic bandwidth and the new system utilizing a system band wider than the basic bandwidth coexist. <P>SOLUTION: A communication apparatus of the new system, which is used in a region where the old system and the FDD type new system coexist, includes a means for communicating at least a downlink data channel of the new system in a band belonging to a certain band (a band of 3.4 to 3.8 GHz) and a means for communication at least an uplink control channel of the new system in a band belonging to another band (a band of 2 GHz) lower than the certain band.
