PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technique for setting a target position for the extraction of Doppler information. SOLUTION: A transmission wave corresponding to an FM continuous wave is transmitted from an oscillator 10 for transmission. A reception mixer 30 performs orthogonal wave detection to a reception RF signal, so as to generate a complex signal. A reference signal to be supplied to each mixer of the reception mixer 30 is generated based on the FM continuous wave to be output from an FM modulator 20. The FM continuous wave to be output from the FM modulator 20 is delay-processed in a delay circuit 25. The delay circuit 25 performs the delay processing corresponding to the depth of the target position in a living body, to the FM continuous wave. Consequently, a Doppler information analyzing part 44 selectively extracts the Doppler information from a sample volume corresponding to the target position.
