PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimally correct the image blurring arising when a user is doing a shoot with a digital camera in one hand, or in other cases. SOLUTION: The blurring caused when imaged by a camera as represented by the image blurring due to camera shake has a low-pass frequency component of great intensity, and the intensity is decreased at higher-pass frequency. The high-frequency image blurring component, which has relatively low intensity, is corrected by an optical correction means without degradation in the taken image due to exposure time or the like. At the same time, the low-frequency image blurring component ensures almost no degradation in the taken image even in the event of correction using an electronic correction means. Further, combination with the optical correction means ensures significantly large correction angles, thereby allowing proper correction even for high-intensity image blurring.
