PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus for obtaining, within a short period of time, the data in relation to the interested object among the images imaged even in the area of insufficient communication environment, and to provide a data providing system utilizing such imaging apparatus. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes an image sensor 102 for acquiring image data by imaging an object, an interested object extracting circuit 108 for extracting the image data obtained of the interested object from the image data obtained through the image sensor 102, a characteristic amount extracting circuit 109 for extracting amount of characteristic in relation to the interested object from the image data obtained of the interested object extracted with the interested object extracting circuit 108, a data acquiring circuit 110 for acquiring reference data in relation to the reference object corresponding to the interested object from the amount of characteristic extracted with the characteristic amount extracting circuit 109, and a monitor 115 for displaying the reference data obtained with the data acquiring circuit 110.
